Foyle Valley House is a hostel for homeless women who have an alcohol issue. We are staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week and provide support to this vulnerable client group to help them meet their needs.
Phone or call in daily 9am-5pm with initial details. Application form completed by staff, before interview to assess accommodation/support needs. Require proof of ID, eg benefits book, driving licence, passport, electoral card.
Operate waiting list prioritised by need.
7 full time and 4 part time staff, 24 hour waking cover. Keywork system, compulsory 6 weekly meetings. Action plans with agreed outcomes, reviewed 6 weekly or sooner if required. Staff help with independent living skills, including budgeting. Regular residents' meetings.
ll staff trained in alcohol and drugs misuse. Liaison with outside, specialist agencies.
Staff help complete applications for move-on accommodation. Have 4 move-on studio flats. Staff help set up floating support for residents moving-on.
House rules and tenure
Must participate in programme of support. No alcohol allowed on the premises. Smoking in designated room only. Licence agreement.
Residents must be in 12 midnight-7am. Maximum 2 nights away from project per week.
We have 14 single rooms in total. Most of our referrals are from Housing Executive / Family Referrals.
